Cooking Classes for EVERYONE

Highlights from Summer Cooking camp with members of the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto.

Independence. We want our loved ones to be able to take care of themselves.

This is something all parents want and it is no easy feat.

We are thrilled to announce we are offering classes now specifically for young adults with Down Syndrome, Mild Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In the last two months we’ve had the pleasure of running a pilot class and a summer camp through the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto. The experience was so positive that we have decided to create an evening class starting in September on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm and plans are in the works to create a daytime class.

You may not know this, but I have a background in teaching Special Education. I used to teach for the TDSB as a Special Education Teacher and before that taught ESL in Toronto and overseas. And if it isn’t obvious, I love to cook and I really love to teach. Nothing makes me happier than sharing a new recipe, tip or hack.

I am passionate about providing creative learning opportunities for anyone who wants to learn in a safe, inclusive environment. Our teacher to student ratio is usually 1:4 and we are committed to providing hands-on, informative instruction.

Adios,

Lisa
